Areas of professional interest to Dan are colorectal cancer prevention, gut health, familial cancer syndromes and colonoscopy delivery.

His understanding of biology, and desire to help the community and create something new motivated him to enter the medical profession.

He achieved a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Science with Honours (MBBS Hons) at the University of Adelaide in 2000, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2006, and received a PhD in 2010 and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2011, both at The University of Queensland.

Upon his return to Australia in 2014, he worked as a laboratory head at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute and then as a consultant Gastroenterologist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, and in private practice.

He moved to Brisbane to become a partner in Colonoscopy Clinic in 2019, and enjoys working as part of a team of talented people committed to helping their community.
